It is a scenic village with paved pedestrian streets, squares and gardens. Its name derives from the word pefko, i.e.s pinewood, which is plenty in the area. The beach of Pefkohori is big with splendid sand, pebbles in certain areas and an aquamarine sea. A well organized beach with a lot of services and activities for the visitors.
