Sailing Holidays in Omišalj
Dating from the 3rd century, Omisalj is one of the oldest towns on the Island of Krk and also the first town you will encounter almost immediately after you cross the Krk bridge from the mainland. The town itself is built on the cliff about 80 metres above the sea with panoramic view over Kvarner bay. Omisalj has preserved its medieval urban structure and the charming old centre of Omišalj with its narrow streets is a pedestrian car-free zone.
On the main square is a large parish church of the Assumption with a bell tower, the city's Lodge and the Chapel of St. Helen. Residential buildings preserved its original rural appearance characteristic of Krk island - many houses have a typical external stairs next to the arched entrance to the ground floor and a balcony above the arched entrance.
Alongside the edge of the cliff is walled walkaway perfect for these romantic evenings offering peace, quiet and a beautiful view on the small marina and the seaside promenade below.
