Golfo di Viticcio lies between Punta Penisola and Capo d’Enfola, 1 mile N. The red-coloured houses of the village of Viticcio lie in the SE corner of the bay. Temporary anchorage can be obtained in depths of 10 m, rock and weed, poor holding ground, S of the isthmus connecting Capo d’Enfola to Isola d’Elba. However the bay shoals rapidly with depths of about 5 m 180 m from the shore. Mariners should also beware of tunny nets in this area. Use of an anchor buoy is advised.
