Bocca d’Arno is a small craft harbour within Fiume Arno, close N of the resort of Marina di Pisa. The river mouth can be identified by the breakwaters extending from each bank; the S breakwater is marked by a light. The approach is encumbered with numerous shifting shoals created mainly from deposits carried by the river. Storms can create banks at the river mouth with depths of less than 1 m over them.
