Anchorage can be found, as convenient to draught, up to about 1 mile ESE of Punta San Cataldo Light within the 10 m depth contour, sand and weed, sheltered from the W and SW. An anchorage for coasters lies SE of the light in about 7 m and a short distance offshore, keeping Torre Veneri, 2. 5 miles NW of the light, a little open E of the light. This berth is sheltered from N winds by the rocky shoal extending from the cape.
