Isola Pianosa, is an isolated islet, situated about 18.5 miles N of Promontorio del Gargano and 13 miles ENE of Isole Tremiti. It is flat, arid, and rocky, steep-to on its N side but bordered elsewhere by a bank with depths of less than 10 m about 140 m wide.
