The municipality of Spotorno is situated on the Western Riviera between Punta del Maiolo and Punta del Vescovado at 13 km from the province of Savona; it stretches along the coast that unwinds into succession of different contexts. The backbone of the town is the Via Aurelia beyond which you can find the long sandy beach that in summer is full of the large umbrellas belonging to the seaside resorts. For the entire length of the coastline there is the seaside promenade that unwinds into a succession of gardens and little squares that accompany us right up to the centre of the ancient village. This is characterised by the presence of alleys that cross each other giving the impression of a labyrinth; in reality, the historical centre of Spotorno is a great deal less tortuous than that of many other seaside villages in Liguria. The alleys, apart from clubs and many restaurants, host several craftsmen’s workshops amongst which you can distinguish those where Albisola ceramics are created; this is a small village situated between Spotorno and Savona.
