Sailing Holidays in Noli

Noli is one of the most interesting medieval centers in Liguria for its history and art and not only because the town has preserved almost intact the ancient structure within the walls, but also for its historical and economic importance that has had during all the Middle Ages in western Liguria. The name "Noli" testified in the form "Naboli" in the oldest documents in 1004 and 1005 certainly derives from a form of "Neapolis" that meaning "new city". It clearly derived from the greek-byzantine. The historical and archeological data studied so far confirm this hypothesis too. Noli had the part, with the center near and contemporary of Varigotti, of important base of support in the defense of the Liguria coast.
