Alassio is a popular resort which extends along the beach. A concrete pier on piles extends about 160 m SE from the beach abreast Chiesa Maggiore, the E church within the town. With local knowledge anchorage can be obtained in a depth of 27 m, sand, good holding ground about 750 m SE of the pier. Smaller vessels can obtain anchorage closer inshore in a depth of about 7 m. Mariners should note the prohibited anchorage area which lies NE of the anchorage. The alignment (311°) of Sancturaio della Madonna della Guardia with Chiesa Maggiore and the alignment (038°) of Capo Santa Croce with Capo Lena, are useful marks.
