Porto di Villa San Giovanni is situated about 0. 8 mile S of Punta Pezzo. It is a major ferry port connecting Italy to Sicily (Messina). There is a narrow, sandy beach abreast the town, which, on account of the strong current, is protected from erosion by numerous groynes.
