A breakwater, parallel to the coast, protects houses on the N shore and provides shelter for boats. Anchorage can be obtained in depths of 5 to 10 m within the bay which is often used, during strong N winds, by vessels unable to enter Porto di Procida. A mooring buoy for small craft lies 130 m NW of Punta dei Monaci (40°45′6N, 14°02′0E).
