The sandy beach at the head of Cala del Porto, 0. 6 mile S of Punta Tramontana, provides the best landing place on the island. Cala del Porto is overlooked by La Forcina, an outcrop rising on the E coast of the island, which appears to have three peaks when viewed from the W but only one when seen from the E. Several huts on the shore of the cove and some of the caves in the cliffs overlooking it contain survival equipment.
