Beach with coarse (chondri) sand, hence the name! Roughly 10 km from Lafkos and the bight that many fishermen live. It is said that this is the bight where the remaining boats of Xerxes’ fleet resorted after they defeated Greeks at cape Artemisio of North Evia in 480 B.C.
