Sailing Holidays in Kymi-Aliveri

Aliveri, the capital of the Municipality Kymi-Aliveri, is a modern town with significant financial and trade activity. It is located 50 km in the southeastern of Halkida. It is built amphitheatrically on the hills and it is 2 km far from the coasts of Evoikos Gulf. Karavos is the port of Aliveri and the touristic centercenter of the area.

Kimi is a beautiful small town which towers the Aegean Sea from a privileged position. It is built around the slopes of a hill with lush vegetation. A twisting road 4 km long connects the town with the beach of Kymi, which has several traditional houses, picturesque streets, fine gardens and an abundance of running water. The ancient Euboean Kymis mentioned as a harbor town related to the more prominent poleis of Chalkida and Eretria in antiquity.

Together with these, it is sometimes named as the founding metropolis of the homonymous Kymi (Cumae) in Italy, an important early Euboean colony, which was probably named after it. Kymi has a very interesting Folklore Museum, with exhibits covering the period 1800-1930. A special room contains relics of the renowned doctor and researcher Georgios Papanikolaou. The town has many hotels and rooms to let, taverns, restaurants, coffee shops and bars.
