Immediately to the west of Cape Sounion there is a small bay that is, unfortunately, often full of boats, but from there you can visit one of Greece's most beautiful ancient sites : Poseidon's Temple. It can be seen from quite a distance on its rocky pedestal. Should you prefer somewhere calm, choose "Legrana" bay a mile further west.
