The rather small, only 400 meters long, beach of Ireon, pebbly and partly sandy, is situated at a distance of 17 kilometers southwestern to the town of Samos and 6 kilometers western to Pythagorio. The sea is not very deep and as the beach is found within the bay of Pythagorio, at the southeastern coast of the island, it is well protected from the winds. Accommodation facilities are available, both close to the beach and in the broader area and there are some taverns and coffee bars at the seafront where you may have your meals, drinks and refreshments. Ireon is a very well organized beach, close enough to the capital and to Pythagorio and offers many facilities for swimming, sunbathing and sea sports. Access to the beach of Heraeon from the town of Samos is possible by public buses, by taxi and by rented or private car and motorbikes. From Pythagorio you will reach the beach by taxi or by private means.
