The small (only some 200 meters long) pebbly beach of Gagou is situated at the northeastern coast of the island, at a distance of less than 2 kilometers northern to the capital town of Samos. It is a beach with shallow and clean sea and as it is located within the bay of Vathy it is well protected from the winds. Accommodation is available at the beach and in the area around and the visitor can enjoy a drink or a nice meal in the seafront taverns before or after swimming. Gagou is an organized beach with facilities for swimming and sunbathing (umbrellas, sun beds) and in the last years it is often awarded a blue flag. Access from the town of Samos is easy by any means.
