Balos is a 400 meters long beach with big pebbles, situated at a distance of some 40 kilometers southwestern to the town of Samos. The beach is found at the southwestern coast of the island, within the bay of Marathokambos, close to the well known beach of Psili Ammos; it is well protected from the winds and the sea is very clean and deep. Several alternatives for accommodation are available in the area around and the seafront tavern at the beach will offer to you full meals and refreshments before or after swimming. The beach is not organized at all, but it is ideal for a relaxing swim in calmness, far away from the capital town of Samos. Access to the beach from the town of Samos is easy by private means (car and motorbikes) via the settlement of Koumaeika.
