Sailing Holidays in Harbor of Nea Moudania
The port of Néa Moudaniá is a small commercial harbor that consists of the inner and the outer port. The outer port, which is mainly used by cargo ships, is protected by two breakwaters.
The west breakwater extends to south for 450 meters and a light operates at its head. Its outer side and head are protected by a parapet and a slope of masonry, while its inner side is quayed, with depths between 4.6 and 7.4 meters near it.
The east breakwater extends to the south-southwest for about 300 meters with a slope of masonry and a light operates at its head. The inner port is formed between the heads of the two moles.
The west one extends to east for 150 meters and a light is exhibited from its head. Only its north side is quayed. The eastern one, only the north side of which is quayed, extends to the west for 180 meters and a light operates at its head.
The entrance of the inner port is formed between the two moles and its entrance is open to the south. The width of its entrance is approximately 50 meters. Its west shores are quayed and the depths near them are approximately 2 meters. The remaining shores are not quayed and the depths near them are less than 1 meter.
At the NE shores of the inner port Marina Moudania constructed which consists of 3 floating piers. Water, electric power is provided. Néa Moudaniá town stands in the east part of the port. It is one of the greatest fishing centers in central Macedonia.
