The Maritime Museum of Chios is located in the center of Chios town. It was donated by the ship owner Anastasios Pateras. The museum hosts portraits of sailboats and steam boats that belonged to ship owners from Chios, works of the local artist Aristides Glykas (1870-1940), navigation tools, miniatures of vessels from various periods, photographs from life on board, manuscripts and many other exhibits from private collections.
