Sailing Holidays in Preveza Harbor

Harbor Prevézis (38°57’.7 N – 020°45’.4 E) is formed in the E of Préveza town, the capital of the prefecture of Préveza. It had a population of 16,321 in 2001 out of a total of 19,605 in municipality Prévezas. Préveza is also known for ancient Nikópoli, the river Achérontas and the necromancy.

From a point of the shore about 180 m SE of the fortress Vrysoúla the curved E mole, 100 m wide, extends SE for 400 m, continues S for 300 m and then WSW for 250 m. At the S end of its head stands a light. The S side of the mole is quayed for 250 m and has depths of 8.7–9.5 m near it; the head of the mole is quayed for 100 m and has depths of 5.5 m near it.

About 120 m NW of the light lies the W mole, which extends W for 40 m. At its head stands a light. Between the heads of the moles there is the entrance of a marina, which is used by passenger and fishing vessels. It is open S and has a width of 60 m. Its inner coasts are quayed and have depths of about 2 m.

On the NE coasts lie five floating jetties, perpendicular to them, about 85 m apart from each other and extending SW for 45 m.

Fishing shelter Prevézis has been built on the outer side of the NE part of the E mole. It is protected by a curved mole that extends N for 150 m, continues NW for 100 m and then W for 50 m. It is open NW and has its coasts quayed. On the SW coasts there are two jetties that extend N for about 65 m.
