Koumelas is a small picturesque settlement with a small and tranquil bay. The pebbled beach is quiet with big rocks on the edge and crystal blue water being the main characteristic. To get there you must go towards Marlas village, located after Pirgos village. Just before you get to the village outskirts there is a sign-post for Koumelas. Follow the dirt track and keep going for about 4,5 km until you reach the village. Note that although the dirt track is accessible, it can get bumpy and it would be easier if you drove a Jeep-type vehicle. Another characteristic of this route is the fantastic view of neighboring Andros island opposite, as you approach Koumelas village.
