Kolumbo is an active submarine volcano located 7 km northeast Santorini island. The highest parts of the crater rim are now about 18 meters below sea level. A caldera is formed in the central part that reaches a depth of 512 meters below sea level. The area of the volcano is the most dangerous underwater volcanic area of the Mediterranean.
