Less than 1 km from Plaka is the ancient theater of Milos. It was built in third century BC. It was a big theater as it could seat 7.000 people. The theater has an excellent view as overlooks the port and the acoustics are exceptional. Seven marble levels, six rows of seats, the auditorium, the orchestra, the stage floor and a lot of other smaller parts are preserved. Nowadays, it hosts many performances and music concerts and it has a capacity of 700 people.
