The Hozoviotissa Monastery is an 11th century building, known as Virgin Mary. It is believed that its icon arrived on a boat from Palestine. The monastery is located into a cliff providing an amazing view of the Aegean sea.

A low door and some stairs lead to higher levels where old icons are kept. Some of these icons inside the monastery include the Panagia Portaitissa, dating back to the 15th century, and the Gennadio`s Prayer, dating back to 1619.
