The beach of Platania is situated about 6 km. east of Rethymnon. It's a beautiful, sandy beach, open to the north. It is well organized and offers many options. Access from Rethymnon is very easy with regular and frequent bus, taxi and rented or private cars and motorcycles. Very close to the beach you will find restaurants, cafes, etc. Beware of sea currents.
