Župski Zaljev is entered between Rt Sustjepan (42°35′N 18°13′E) and Rt Pelegrin, about 2¼ miles NW. A number of villages and small harbours, of which Cavtat is the most important, are situated around the bay. Cavtatski Otoci lie in the approaches to the bay. The E part of Župski Zaljev provides good anchorage for vessels of any draught during a Bora or SE gales, in depths from 27 to 37 m mud, good holding. Anchorages close to the shore during the heavy seas raised by SW and NW winds are to be avoided.
