Volos Marina is located in the center of Volos, a port city on the east coast of the Greek mainland, situated midway between Athens and Thessaloniki. Along with Skiathos marina they are the main ports of call to the Sporades sailing area. The closest airport, is only 4 km away, is the Nea Anchialos National Airport (IATA: VOL).
There are a number of alternative mooring locations, (i) moor stern or bows to the breakwater, or alongside on the floating pontoon in the south-east of the harbour, (ii) on the main town quay moor stern or bows to, (iii) in the inner fishing boat harbour moor stern or bows to.
The harbour provides all the resources a yacht needs for provisions and repairs. Volos is a relatively new and vibrant city. The waterfront consists of a car-free promenade, lined with an exceptional number of café-bars, restaurants and ouzeri.
Volos Marina is protected by a 100-meter-long and 10- meter-wide mole. The mole heads to the east-northeast. The entrance of the marina is facing southwest and its width is 80 meters. The depths in the inner part of the marina vary between 1.5 and 3.3 meters. In its inner part, the small port is quayed and along its perimeter there is a floating wooden mole, onto which there are random small wooden jetties used by boats.
A 174-meter-long T-shaped concrete jetty is located on the eastern limit of the small port. The first part of the jetty has a southwestern direction and it is 100 meters long and 6 meters wide. The second part of the jetty has a northwestern-southeastern direction and it is 80 meters 80 meters long and 6 meters wide. The depths near the jetty vary between 3.8 and 7.9 meters. The jetty is used by fishing boats.

At a distance of 7 km south-east of Volos the popular coastal tourist resort of Agria is a modern and dynamic town, full of life all year long. The plethora of coastal taverns, restaurants and refreshment stands offer visitors great gastronomic options as well as relaxation.
Few kilometers after Chrysi Akti and in the direction of Volos, we meet the bight Mamidakis and the settlement of Agios Georgios Kynigon. The settlement has both permanent and seasonal residences along with a calm beach with pebbles and shingles.
