A small port suitable only for boats is formed to the north of the quay at Settlement Ntipi with nearby depths less than 1 m. The small port is protected from the southeast winds by a 85-meter-long breakwater with a northeast direction made of natural rocks. The small port is also protected from the north winds by a bunch of rocks, which decrease the length of its entrance to 20 m.

Mytilini Marina is situated on a strategic location for sailing just opposite the Turkish coast at the northeast part of Mytilini's city, the capital of Lesvos island. It is a sheltered port of call or permanent base for yachts cruising the northern Aegean.
On the southern coast of Lesvos, Plomari, the ouzo capital of Greece, is built amphitheatrically near the sea and is the second largest town in the island after Mytilini. This is where the famous Barbayiannis Ouzo comes from as well as several other smaller labels like the excellent Ouzo Giannatsi, both distilled in the traditional method.
The north part of the beach is characterized by crystal clear, shallow waters and fine sand. The other side (south of the port) the morphology of the sea-floor changed completely: there are thick quite clearly pebbles with unique colors.
