Fragkos - Simos Beach at Lefki
Exploring Elafonisos Sailing Holidays area
Large and magnificent huge beach south of the island, opposite the island of Kithira and Sarakiniko. Incredible colors, emerald sea, and fine sand in white golden color, a unique landscpae in Greece. Fragkos beach has unique flora, including sea lilies and thalassokedra (sea cedars) as in many other sandy beaches in Elafonisos. Sometimes when it is not windy, you think you are in an endless pool, a beautiful water paradise. The beach in August is filled with thousands of clusters of white lilies of the sea. The area is made up of white sand dunes and crystal clear waters that offer a unique swimming experience. When the weather is windy, Simos is ideal for windsurfing as well. It is one of the best-organized beaches in Elafonissos with sunbeds, umbrellas, beach bars and a couple of taverns nearby. During high season it can get a little crowded.
Navigational Aids
The harbor is open NNE and its entrance is 130 m wide, formed by the outer root of the windward mole of the fishing shelter and a jetty that extends NW for about 70 m. The middle of its inner part is widened.
Harbor Neapóleos is on the NE part of Vátika bay. Neápolis settlement (population 2,727) is situated inland, at an elevation of 10 m.
Neapoli, except its maritime tradition, has evolved into a very popular holiday destination due to its clean beaches and the amazing nature of the area. A moderate mountain biking trip begins in Neapoli.
The Municipal theater of Potamos is a beautiful small open theater, located in the road from Potamos village to Agia Pelagia. It can seat 800 people.
Frangos is just East of Sarakino on the South of the island. Its sand dunes make it very attractive.
Lefki is maybe the best shelter from the meltemi and the prevailing West winds. It is a very pleasant isolated anchorage.
The village of Agia Pelagia is located at the northeast side of the Kithira island and was the island`s main harbor for many years. Today, it is a famous village with many good restaurants and shops.
On the S coasts of the cove Palaiokastro there is a mole 110 m long with a N–NW orientation, at the head of which stands a light. Its outer side is protected by natural boulders and has a parapet.
A small and wild beach with beautiful colors on the island's west. It can be approached by the road from Logothetianika.
From the main road make a turn to the village of Logothetianika and follow the signs to end up on the beach of Lykodimos. There you will find a canteen where you can grab a bite or something to drink.
In the village Platia Ammos, on the northern part of the island, you can swim and enjoy the view of the Peloponnesian coast and mountains just opposite you. The combination of pebbles and sand beach and the picturesque village surrounding it will make you relax.
Essentially it is a continuation of the beach Kontogoni, located west of the village and continues after the cape where there Kalogeras not suitable for swimming because the bottom of the sea has plates. Wealthy unique dunes and huge trees 'Thalassokedra'.
Leaving Monemvasia and heading to the village of Kastella, after Agia Paraskevi is the beach of Agia Thekla. It is a pure beach sand and very small pebbles.

This is nice long sandy beach on the cost of Peloponesse across the island of Elafonissos. The beach often changes shape due to weather and Ferry boat traffic.
On the eastern part of Pounta, across the islet of Petri (Pavlopetri), lies the homonymous beach. It was affected by sand movements in the last few years and now it is shorter with more shallow waters.
Sandy beach which starts from the entrance of Round Lake as a natural extension of the north coast Pavlopetri sandy stretches to the point where the community of Elafonissos ceases. Especially quiet beach since the approach requires to circle the lake.
Great sandy beach in the western part of the island which is protected by numerous islands that surround the sea side and in the interior of the island protected by a wall of cedar trees. Abound Sempre Viva flowers and beautiful plants spring up in June.
The beach in the city of Neapolis, on the east side of the Laconian Gulf. Neapolis is the output to Kythira and very near the port of Elafonisos.
Located about 12 km north of Neapolis. A quiet, secluded beach, on the road from Gytheion to Neapolis.
Heading South to Xifias to 6 km is the beach Ambelakia turn tricks before and after. The beach Ambelakia has sand and fine pebbles, ideal for swimming in the clear waters and for the game and relax on the sandy coast.
The settlement Kastella, a wide beach that stretches down a long hill with great views. The Kastela is a beach sand along with small pebbles and clear waters for the eagerly waiting summer divers.
The beach of Agia Pelagia lies in the northeastern part of the island and runs along the village of the same name. This is a beach with fine gray sand and crystal clear waters.
Beach in the village on the east side, which initially limited the horizon of the ferry boat. Brought the final end of concreting few years ago.
Looking at the sea from the village of Agia Pelagia, you’ll see several beaches on your right; one of them is the beach of Lorentzo. Located between Firi Ammos and Kakia Lagada, it is one of the largest beaches on the island, with crystal clear water, sand and pebbles.
Just next to the beach of Lorentzos, at the end of the Paleochora canyon you’ll find Kakia Lagada. During the winter months, a large lake is created just behind the beach by the water coming from the gorge.
