Sailing Holidays in Symi
Part of the Dodecannese island chain, Symi is located 41km north-northwest of Rhodes. The main town is divided into upper and lower town, Chorio and Gialos respectively. Most of the houses are neoclassical, painted in warm pastel colors, with balconies in the center and red tiled roofs.
Don't miss the sights of the Venetian castle Kastro with Kyra Panagia church, the circular, stone construction of Pontikokastro, the Patitiria and the Dragon's fortress which according to a myth was built by Dragons.
The monastery of the Archangel Michael Panormitis on the southwest coast of the island is also worthy of a visit as it has two important museums; one with ecclesiastical art and one with folk art.
