At a short distance from the village of Kalathos it is situated the 4- kilometers long sandy beach with the same name. The beach is found at a distance of some 4 kilometers northern to Lindos and some 44-45 kilometers southern to the town of Rhodes. According to archaeologists, the village of Kalathos is related to the ancient demos of Klassioi, which was located in the area. Among the ruins of the church of Aghios Ioannis, archaeologists have found architectural parts belonging to an ancient oil-press. There have also been discovered finds dated in the Roman period, among which an altar. Once in the area, it is worth seeing the tiny church dedicated to Virgin Mary, hewn in the rock and going back to the 12 th century. Accommodation, food and drink and amusement facilities are available both at the beach and in the village of Kalathos. A cantina, some taverns and a supermarket are available at the beach for a coffee, a meal or other supplies. The beach has nice fine sand and fine pebbles in parts and it is partly organized.
