Our suggested itinerary starts in Athens and sails first along the Athenian Riviera towards the Temple of Poseidon in Cape Sounion. The next day we sail off to the first islands of the Saronic Gulf, touching Aegina Island, Hydra and the vibrant island of Spetses. Then we cross the sea to reach the beautiful villages and bays of the Peloponnesian coast and later we sail south to the most famous town of the area, Monemvasia. From there we will sail around the first leg of the Peloponnese and reach the island of Elafonissos and then continue straight down to Kythera. On the way back we sail further into the Argosaronic gulf visiting also Poros island and Epidavros with its most famous ancient theatre, before the cruise ends, back in Athens.Add to My Routes
The harbor of Hydra is always very crowded in high season and is best avoided at that time. Early spring is the best time to visit, when it is usually possible to moor either on the south quay or the inside of the north breakwater (where, however, it shallows as you go further in).
Beautiful beach with small pebbles (white and black and with a little sand) and crystal clear waters. Located between the two settlements Paralia and Metropolis.
Gerakas is a small, medieval village built on a natural harbour surrounded by steep hills, where the sea runs inland creating Greece’s only fiord. In ancient times, the entrance to the harbour was known as Porto Cadena (Chain), because of the chain that was used to close off the entrance to the harbour.
