Atsitsa Beach

Atsitsa beach is quite popular on the island of Skyros. With a couple of taverns nearby, which offer scrumptious food, the beach does not provide many amenities, such as towels or umbrellas. The beach is dotted with rocks along the water, and provides a good place to sit, as the waves splash against you. There are a few trees nearby, but do not enough to provide substantial shade, so do carry your umbrella, and a good sunscreen.
Navigational Aids
Linaria is a small harbor and it offers good protection from the meltemi (the Etesians) (the Etesians) as well as from the S winds. Anchoring is very difficult because of the many laid moorings and bad holding.
On the west coast of the south part of the bay Achili there is a marina, protected by two breakwaters made of a slope of masonry. At the head of the north breakwater a light operates.
Kalamitsa is found 9 km west of Skyros town. It is a lovely, sandy resort and has very clean waters.
Sarakino or Glyfada is a magical isolated beach on the deserted island of Sarakiniko, also called “Nisi tou Despoti”. The beach is marvelous, with white sand and transparent azure waters, creating a tropical ambience.
The beach of Gyrismata is an extremely popular beach among locals as well as tourists. This long and sandy beach lies 5 km north of Skyros town and stretches over quite a distance.
Palamari is a settlement with great archaeological interest. It is located in the northeastern coast of Skyros, 13 km from Chora.
Agalipa bay is a natural ambience of unique beauty in northern Skyros, right after Agios Petros beach. The bay has two beaches, a large one and a narrowerer but more impressive one, since it hosts a shipwreck.
A long and sandy beach, Kyra Panagia beach is on the west coast of the island of Skyros. This beach is quite unspoiled with sparkling waters and nice sand.
Agios Fokas lies 13 km south west of Skyros town. The location is hidden engulfed among lush pine tree hills which stretch to all directions.
Pefkos is a scenic beach about 10 km to the west of Chora. It is very close to Atsitsa village and distinguishes for the lush green landscape that surrounds the small coast.
One of the most beautiful sandy beaches of the island. The panoramic view of the mountains and the open horizon offers an exciting scene.
Petritsa is characterized by the white sand which stretches along the lush pine tree hills, located in the west side of the island of Skyros. It is one of the most secluded beaches of Skyros, so you will not find facilities.
Molos beach is found only 4 km north of Skyros town. It is the most organized beach of the island with many accommodation options, taverns and hotels available in close distance.
Magazia beach is found within a ten-minute walk down the hill from Skyros town, where a long stairway brings you to its dark sand. As it is the main beach of the only main town on the island, Chora, it can get rather crowded in the high summer season.
Lino is a little sandy and pebbly beach on the eastern coast of Skyros. The beach is never too crowded and visitors can get anything they need from the beach bar.
Aspous beach lies 5 km south of Skyros town. There are a couple of taverns nearby but facilities are not available.
