In front of the beach the Opountios (Atalante) bay lies, whose name derives from the ancient capital of the Opounta Locris. To the west of this scenic beach is the small islet matrix connected to the mainland by a narrow strip of land when the tide withdraws waters. Near the beach there are taverns and cafes.
