Navigational Aids
The small port of Néa Artáki is formed at the northwestern head of the cove of the homonymous bay. Its entrance is facing east.
A shelter for pleasure boats (Marina) in ChalkĂda has been constructed on the inner shores of cove Vourkári. Its entrance is facing south-southwest with depths of about 5 meter on the axis of its entrance.
The fishing shelter of Kourentà is formed on the northeastern shores of the cove, east of cape Tekés, while its entrance is facing west. A mole that extends to southwest for approximately 35 meters protects the northwest part of the fishing shelter.
Lefkanti is a sandy beach flooded with tourists and locals. There are many restaurants and cafes as well as a Kitesurfing school operating there.
The beautiful beach of Valopoula is h opposite Chalcis. Both the beach and the sea bottom are sandy.
The beach has a particularity; when the waters have pulled through, the sea is too shallow and you may need to move many meters until you reach a sufficient depth for swimming. This beach is suitable for kite surfing.
The beach Manika is a beach just outside Chalcis, which the locals refer to as Outside Panagitsa. The beach has both sand and scattered rocks.
Papathanasiou beach is a beach in the center of the Chalcis. This is one of the cleanest beaches one can find in the center of the city.
Beach Sikies is a small beach where there is a small basketball court and a playground. On the shore there is sand and a few stones.
