Poros town harbor provides an excellent shelter but, because of the constant traffic of large and small ferries, there is an almost continual wash caused by their wakes. Also, during south winds, there can be gusts.
The harbor of Hydra is always very crowded in high season and is best avoided at that time. Early spring is the best time to visit, when it is usually possible to moor either on the south quay or the inside of the north breakwater (where, however, it shallows as you go further in).
The harbor of Aegina, being close to Athens, is always crowded - especially at weekends. Yachts moor stern / bow-to using their anchors either on the North quay, where there are depths of 2.
Skala is the second port in Agistri, along with Milos. Μooring in Skala`s port is recommended for smaller boats, because it is quite shallow and has reefs right in front of the port`s entrance.

As Poros town is built on a small peninsula surrounded by quays, along the south and northwest sides, the harbour provides excellent shelter all year round. The closest airport to Poros island is the International Airport of Athens (IATA: ATH) and from the airport or the city centre, visitors can go to the port of Piraeus and take the ferry to Poros.
Saint Nektarios (1846–1920) Metropolitan of Pentapolis and Wonderworker of Aegina, was officially recognised as a Saint by the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople in 1961. His Feast Day is celebrated every year on 9 November.
Mardraki is an attractive anchorage less than a mile East of Hydra Harbor. It is exposed, however, to the North Anchor in 3-6 m over sand, weed, and mud.
The Monastery of Dormition (Kimisi Theotokou), stands the middle of the quayside in Hydra's port. It was founded around 1645, based on the plans of Venetian and Genoese architects.

Sinialo is a stylish cafe facing the port of Hydra. It serves coffee, drinks, snacks and a few traditional desserts.
At Skala, with its imposing, white-washed Church of Agioi Anargyroi, there is a large sandy beach, with golden sand and crystal clea, shallow waters. Most people gather at its beach with various amenities and facilities, just 100m.
Spilia beach is a continuation of the pier of Hydra and one can reach there on foot from the town moving to the west. The beach consists of rocks, but because of its position it has always a lot of people who enjoy diving in crystal waters.
Enjoy your swim and diving under the castle's cannons. The beach of Hydronetta is next to the one of Spilia and one can reach it by walking west from the town of Hydra.
Avlaki beach is a nice place to swim next to Hydroneta and near the town of Hydra. There is no sand or a large beach to spread your towel, but a small mole has been created for this purpose.
Marathonas is 4 Klm far from the harbour of Aegina. It is a tourist resort with a well organized beach.
Aeginitissa is 2 kilometers from Perdika and it has a fully-organised beach with snack-bars, umbrellas for the sun, music and rackets. Its rich vegetation goes all the way up and the blue crystal water of the sea is impressive.
Agia Marina is a well known and a favorite summer destination for Greek and foreign tourists. It has a big sandy beach, well organized with water sports available and the waters are not very deep.
Perdika is an old traditional settlement, build around the port. In the old times its townfolks were occupied exclusively with fishing.
Portes is a remote fishing village with a few houses and a very picturesque tavern. It has a beautiful pebbly beach and a small picturesque harbour for the boats in the area.
The island of Moni is opposite of Perdika, 8 minutes by boat. There are no inhabitants, but only deers, wild goats and peacocks that come close to you, in order to feed them.
At a 5 minutes walking distance from the port of Aegina town you will find the Panagitsa beach. The beach has been named after the Panagitsa church on the boulevard.
The Sandy pebbled Beach of Klima is located on the south side of the island, next to the bay of Klidi. During the week, it is a quiet beach but during the weekends it can be quite busy as the bay is a popular anchor bay.
On the south part of Aegina island, you will find Sarpa Beach. A wide sandy beach with sun-beds and umbrellas, a volley field and small cantina that serves drinks and food.
Further on a narrow path, through a dream-like walk in the pine woods, we reach -500mm. after- a natural emerald bay, with big pebbles and crystasl clear waters; the enchanting Chalkiada.
Roughly in the middle of this journey, through a detour, the road takes us to the picturesque, beach of Dragonera. The beach consists of Small and Big Dragonera.
Mareza is a rocky beach, smothered in green, with deep, crysta-clear waters. Access is easy and by all means of transportation.
West of Limenaria, we reach an exotic area, where the pine trees embrace the beach of Aponissos. The unique combination of colors reminds you of exotic places, offering you a unique relaxation and calmness.
Monastiri is located to the east side of the island. It is a quiet, organised beach with clear waters and picturesque tavernas.
In short distance from the port, at the left side of it, it is situated the beach of Mandraki, which in the past used to be the military port of the island. Located within a small close cove, Mandraki is the best organized beach of Hydra.
Kanali is located after a small bridge and it is only 5 minutes from the center of the town of Poros. It is a beautiful and organized sandy beach with taverns over the sea with a wonderful view.
Askeli is a wonderful beach, quite long with deep yellow sand and silky blue waters . There are bars, taverns, even a court for beach volley is there to please even the most demanding visitor.
Vagiona is a beautiful bay in the north part of Poros, near the village of Agios Nektarios. There is a road that leading you to the beach after some kilometers to the north of the village.
Neorio is located at the east side of the island, next to Vidi. It is the most picturesque place of Poros, full of pine trees reaching down to the beaches.
Tselevinia (Skylli and Spathi) are small inhabited islands at the eastern part of Peloponnisos. They are located between Poros and Hydra and have great isolated beaches with blue-colored waters.
Kallianos Diving Center was founded in 1990 on Kapari, a small island measuring 10 acres just two miles from the town of Hermione. The center has operated for almost 20 years putting customer service and safety first, and is one of the longest-running diving centers in Greece, and perhaps the only one located on a small island in the entire world.
