Kalamaki Marina
Exploring Alimos Sailing Holidays area
Kalamaki or Alimos Marina is one of the largest marinas in Greece and is considered the ideal base for sea-loving voyagers eager to explore the Greek islands, many of which are within leisurely sailing distance (i.e. Saronic Islands). It is located south west of Athens, 15 Km from the city center, 8 Km south of Piraeus port and 30 km from El. Venizelos International Airport (IATA: ATH).
It is served by a dense transportation network of trams, buses and taxis, with stations being just outside the Marina. The bus line (Χ96) stopping just outside Alimos Marina provides a direct connection to the Athens International Airport. The tram stops at 'Pikrodafni' and 'Marina Alimou' and connects to the metro, which also provides a stop at the airport.
Sailing Tip
The marina has approximately 1000 berths for mooring cruise boats and yachts up to 40 meters length. The maximum depth of the Marina is 6.5 meters. There is a large supermarket for shopping just 700 meters from the Marina.

Navigational Aids
Flisvos Marina provides high-class facilities and services for yachts and mega yachts from around the world. Flisvos is operating according to top international standards with special attention to the needs of mega yachts.
Marina Zea, also called Pasalimani, is situated on the west side of Piraeus port, 44km away from Athens Airport El. Venizelos (IATA: ATH).
Consists of 4 artificial small harbors located on the beach of Glyfada. Serving yachts, boats and water sport crafts.
Vouliagmeni lake is located just 12 km from the Marina Kalamaki. The water of the lake is 50 to 100 meters deep with highest temperature 30°C.
Odeon of Herodes Atticus, known as Herodeon, was built in 161 AC and had a capacity of 5.000 people.
The theater of Dionysus Eleuthereus is an open theater and one of the oldest in Athens. The structure dates back to the 4th century BC but had many other later renovations since then.
The Acropolis museum is located in the center of Athens, in the southeast corner of Acropolis rock and has a total area of 25,000 square meters. It is a brand new museum which was built to host exhibits that were found during the excavations in the Acropolis and were too many to fit in the former small Acropolis Museum.
The Averof Warship is probably the most impressive surviving naval vessel of the Hellenic Navy. The Averof was launched in 1911 and remained active for more than 40 years.
The Byzantine and Christian Museum is based in Athens and is centred on religious artefacts of the Early Christian, Byzantine, Medieval, post-Byzantine and later periods. The museum has over 25,000 artefacts that span over a wide time range.
The Mitrópoli, or Metropolitan Cathedral is the seat of the Bishop of Athens and an important spiritual center of Greek Orthodoxy. It remains a major city landmark and the site of official ceremonies like coronations and important weddings and funerals.
Kaisariani Monastery (or Moni Kaisarianis) is a beautiful 11th century Eastern Orthodox monastery on the slopes of Mount Hymettos just 5km east of Athens. Kaisariani Monastery was built on the ruins of a Roman temple.
Chili Art Gallery was founded in 2010 and it is located in Thission near the famous area Gazi.The gallery is an ideal place for art lovers, presenting several forms of contemporary art.
`A for Athens`` is one of the most famous cocktail bars in the center of Athens. It is located in a roof hotel next to the Monastiraki Metro Station.
Balux Café is a beautiful place in Glyfada, for those who want to enjoy a drink or a cocktail bythe sea. In Balux there is always loud music playing by famous DJs.
The long sandy beach popular enough I Voula beach is just meters from the seaside Poseidon Avenue at the stop of tram and just less than 18 km southeast of the city center, thus it is one of the nearby center of Athens coast of Attica. Organized beach in the suburb of Voula, featuring beach bar, restaurant, changing rooms, etc.
Sandy beach, just before Zea (Pasalimani) on the south coast of Piraeus peninsula below the historic hill of Castella. Is therefore at a distance less than a kilometer from the port of Piraeus and 13 from the center of Athens.
The public beach 'Eden' is located in Paleo Faliro, ie only a few kilometers from the center of Athens. The beach 'Eden' is a strip of land on the beach with great interest.

Beautiful and popular beach with beautiful grounds for walking, ideal for all seasons. It is famous for its shallow waters, the fine sand and the organization, which culminates in the summer.
The Ydrousa or Katramonisi is a rocky island just opposite the Parliament. The islet is a picturesque cove overlooking the north which has a small rough wooden dock that allows small boats to tie boats securely there.

A small sandy cove at the marina across from the Greek point of ending the old Greek airport. It is not organized but a short distance can find cafes, taverns and ouzo.
