Ouranopoli is the threshold of Mount Athos. It is the last cosmic place before the visitor reaches the monastic state.
A series of small islets called by the locals, Gaidouronisia constitute a cluster of small islands at a distance less than two miles from Ouranopoli and Ammouliani. You can approach them with your own yacht or rent a small boat, from Ouranopoli or from Kamoudi.
Arsanas or Tarsanas is found on the borders of Mount Athos, after Ouranopoli and named after a monasterial shipyard found there. It is a rocky beach.
The small port of Ouranoúpolis is located near cape Pýrgos, in front of the settlement Ouranoúpolis (960 residents). A mole extending to the west for 78 meters protects the small port from south winds.
