The fishing shelter of Vareiá is protected by two moles made of a slope of masonry. The opening of its entrance is 10 m and is set to the southeast. Its shores are quayed and the depths nearby are approximately 2 m. There is a slip way at its northern shores.

Mytilini Marina is situated on a strategic location for sailing just opposite the Turkish coast at the northeast part of Mytilini's city, the capital of Lesvos island. It is a sheltered port of call or permanent base for yachts cruising the northern Aegean.
The north part of the beach is characterized by crystal clear, shallow waters and fine sand. The other side (south of the port) the morphology of the sea-floor changed completely: there are thick quite clearly pebbles with unique colors.
