Sailing Tip

The fishing port Pláka is located to the head of the homonymous bay. A curved breakwater protects the port from the north and east winds. The breakwater extends to the southeast for 85 m and then turns for approximately 45 m to the southwest. It is built by natural rocks and it is quayed. The depths at the head of the breakwater’s quayed part are approximately 3 m, which decrease steadily as we move to its root, reaching a minimum depth of 1 meter.

Anchorage

Right South of the NE tip of Limnos there is a nice cove that provides some shelter from the meltemi and good shelter from the southerlies. The best place is to anchor off in 3.
