A small port for small vessels was constructed to the northwestern head of the bay of Perigiáli with its entrance facing towards the northeast. Its opening is approximately 35 m wide and is protected by two moles. The south mole, which is 130 m long, is facing towards the northeast and a light exhibits at its head. The north mole is approximately 50 m long and is facing towards the southeast. A light exhibits upon its head.

When Apostle Paul dreamt of a tall impressive Macedonian man who stood in front of him and asked him to “come and pray in Macedonia” he decided to set sails for Neapolis. In winter of the year 49, Apostle Paul landed for the first time on the Greek mainland in Agios Nikolaos area closed to Neapoli (today’s Kavala).
