Exploring Ikaria Sailing Holidays area
The beautiful sandy beach of Na lies in a picturesque cove, about 60 kilometers north-west of Agios Kirikos, near the village of Armenistis. It is situated at the union of a river and the Aegean Sea, in a beautifully unusual scenery. Dense forests with streams and waterfalls can be seen a few meters behind the beach, waiting to be discovered. The ruins of a temple dedicated to the goddess Artemis are lying on the one side of the beach. Nas is open to nudists and non nudists. Some excellent taverns are standing on the edge of the cliff above the beach, offering a superb panoramic view over the sea and the possibility to enjoy magnificent sunsets.
Navigational Aids
Special Afianes Wines has been established in 1997 in Raches, Ikaria. It is built in a vineyard at an altitude of 650m.
Fles beach is located 35 km from Agios Kirikos, on the northern coast of the island. This is a beautiful rocky beach surrounded by steep cliffs covered with dense vegetation.
The long sandy beach of Kampos is located in the homonymous village, 40.5 kilometers north-west of Agios Kirikos.
The village of Karavostamo is located east of Evdilos, the second port of Ikaria, and counts on a nice and well reputed long beach with sand and pebbles, and crystal clear water like most Greek islands. Karavostamo beach can be reached either by the 2 km gravel road, or by the 1 km old foot path.
The beach of Kerame is found at 10 km from Agios Kirikos, at the north-eastern tip of Ikaria, and is a beautiful sandy beach that obviously has the characteristic crystalline waters that define most of Greek beaches. Kerame beach has some rocky formations that end up in the sea, providing some sheltered spaces.
On Ikaria Island, tourists can enjoy the solitude of Kiparisi Beach. Kiparisi offers tranquil blue limpid waters contrasting with the hills behind the beach, full of lush green vegetation.
This long beach is lying near the village of Armenistis, 48.5 kilometres north-west of Agios Kirikos.
The long beach of Mesakti is situated near the beach of Livadi, north-west of Agios Kirikos, just outside the village of Armenistis. It has pure golden sand and crystal-clear waters.
This beach is one of the most beautiful beaches of Ikaria. Located in a picturesque and intimate cove, at 25 kilometers south-west of Agios Kirikos, this beach has bright pebbles and rocks, emerald waters and is surrounded by impressive rock formations, creating a wonderful setting.
Xylosyrtis is a peaceful, long, pebble-rock beach. There is a small pier at the access to the beach which is ideal for fishing and a small cantina on the beach serves refreshments during the summer.
