Avdira Small Port
Exploring Avdira Sailing Holidays area
Sailing Tip
The small port of Ávdira is located in a distance of 0.5 miles west of cape Baloústra. It is artificial and is used by fishing boats. The port is protected from the south winds by two breakwaters. The east breakwater, which is 300 m long, extends to the southwest up to the rocky islet of Mikrón and the west breakwater, which is 470 m long, extends to the southeast for 173 m and then turns to the east for 297 m.
There are remnants of an ancient mole at the northeastern side of the port, under the surface of the sea, which are surrounded by shoals, the edges of which are determined by two green-light buoys. An announcement is always pre-made for the activation of the practice ground that exists in the area of Ávdira.
