The beach of Agia Pelagia lies in the northeastern part of the island and runs along the village of the same name. This is a beach with fine gray sand and crystal clear waters.
An alternative proposal for the northeast coast. With smooth dirt road between Karava and Platia Ammo we reach the beach Fournoi.
Located near Milopotamos village, it is an appropriate destination for those wishing to relax away from the crowd. Take the road to Panaghia Orfani; upon a few meters you will have to park your vehicle as the road ends.
Looking at the sea from the village of Agia Pelagia, you’ll see several beaches on your right; one of them is the beach of Lorentzo. Located between Firi Ammos and Kakia Lagada, it is one of the largest beaches on the island, with crystal clear water, sand and pebbles.
Just next to the beach of Lorentzos, at the end of the Paleochora canyon you’ll find Kakia Lagada. During the winter months, a large lake is created just behind the beach by the water coming from the gorge.
The beach of Palaiopolis is the largest on the island. It lies between the village of Avlemonas and the settlement of Skandia.
In the village Platia Ammos, on the northern part of the island, you can swim and enjoy the view of the Peloponnesian coast and mountains just opposite you. The combination of pebbles and sand beach and the picturesque village surrounding it will make you relax.
Between Kaladi and Komponada is the beach of Vlychada. There is a dirt road to the beach but it is very rough even for off-road vehicles.
Leaving Milopotamos past the junction that leads to the cave of Agia Sophia, after a beautiful ride with a view to the Ionian Sea, you will end up at the beach of Limnionas. Directly opposite the beach are the Panaghia islands, two small islets in front of Limnionas bay and just below the Monastery of Panaghia Mirtidiotissa, which they were named after! In Limnionas you can see the traditional houses used by fishermen for shelter.
From the main road make a turn to the village of Logothetianika and follow the signs to end up on the beach of Lykodimos. There you will find a canteen where you can grab a bite or something to drink.
Further south of Limnionas, the dirt road that leads from the Monastery of Mirtidia to the coast will get you to the little beach of Limnaria. It is ideal for fishing and has a haven for small fishing boats.
A small and wild beach with beautiful colors on the island's west. It can be approached by the road from Logothetianika.
The village of Agia Pelagia is located at the northeast side of the Kithira island and was the island`s main harbor for many years. Today, it is a famous village with many good restaurants and shops.
Close to Milοpotamos village is Neraida waterfall. The 20 meters high waterfall is surrounded by huge plane trees and small lakes.
This is one of the most famous paths in Kythera. The trail begins from the central square of Mylopotamos.
The Municipal theater of Potamos is a beautiful small open theater, located in the road from Potamos village to Agia Pelagia. It can seat 800 people.
