Immediately E of the harbor of Pýlos, at distance of 240 m NE of the central jetty, there is a small harbor (marina). Its NE-facing entrance is about 40 m wide and is protected by two breakwaters. The N one is curved, has a total length of 350 m and extends N for 65 m, then continuing to the NE for 285 m. At its head a light operates (36°54´.1 N – 21°41´.9 E). The S one, with a width of 75 m, extends NNW and has a light at its head.

Kalamata marina is situated in South Peloponnese, in the cove of the Messinian Gulf, 8 Km for the Kalamata International Airport (IATA: KLX). It is considered the ideal mooring place when passing from the Mediterranean and the Ionian Sea to the Aegean Sea.
