Navigational Aids
Zacharo beach, great in length, ideal for sand sandbaths. Zacharo beach is the largest sandy beach in Europe with the clearest waters.
Golden Beach is a beach with pines and crystal clear sea. Kaiafas beach is ideal to enjoy an amazing sunset, while reading your book, next to the calm waters.
The small and large beach Levendochori. Both are characterized by dark sand and rocks that surround it.
Located a few meters away from the Skafidia Monastery. Clean and lively sea, with the characteristic of the rocky beach, a small water source.
The harbor is open to the NE and its inner part is protected from waves caused by SW–SE winds by a windward curved mole, which extends E for 350 m and then continues NE for 260 m. At its head a light operates.
Passing through an area of reeds you find the large beach of Velika. With fine golden sand and trees in its higher part, it is a popular destination and in the summer it bustles with life.
1 kilometre before Petalidi, turn left and then right and find yourself in the beach of Tzane, with sand and small pebbles. The beach is equipped with showers and dress-changing cubicles.
The beach of Petalidi is right before the small port of Petalidi, with big pebbles outside and sand inside. You will find a traditional coffee bar in front of the sea with shade and nice views.
Kalamaki beach, at the end of the road leading to the edge of the first leg of the Peloponnese, it is a magnet for tourists. The view as you approach the beach is breathtaking.
As you enter Methoni you will see Methoni beach, covered with small pebbles and view to the castle of Methoni. This beach is a good solution for a quick swim if you are in the area.
Romanos beach, is situated in Messinia, just beside the similarly called village. The beach is sandy and the waters of the Ionian sea are deep blue.
Vromoneri beach is a choice for the residents of the villages nearby, since it is a decent and easily accessible beach. The beach is covered with sand and you can reach it by going down some steps.
The village of Kalo Nero of Kyparissia in Messinia is endowed with beaches with crystal blue waters that attract even the Caretta Caretta turtles, beautiful landscapes and lush vegetation. It is a heaven on earth that you should visit.
South of Zacharo, in Giannitsochori village, there is a lovely beach, where the combination of sand and pine make up a picture of outstanding natural beauty. All around there are several taverns, where you can eat fresh fish.
Kalamata marina is situated in South Peloponnese, in the cove of the Messinian Gulf, 8 Km for the Kalamata International Airport (IATA: KLX). It is considered the ideal mooring place when passing from the Mediterranean and the Ionian Sea to the Aegean Sea.
Theater of Messene is an exceptional building and an excellent example of the theaters and amphitheaters of the Roman period. It was built about 3rd to 2nd century B.
The Municipal theater of Kalamata was built in 1984. It has two stages, the central stage and the new stage.
