The small harbor is protected from N winds by a mole that extends S for 40 m. Its outer side has been covered with natural boulders; its inner side is quayed, with depths of less than 1 m near it. Its W coasts are quayed, its S coasts are sandy.

The port of Paxoí (Gáios) is a natural harbor formed in front of the houses of the city of Paxoí, which is the capital of the island. The port can be approached by the N entrance having a width of approximately 230 m or by the S which has an entrance width of approximately 30 m and 2 m depth.
Only 2 km or so south of Paxos is the island of Antipaxos; an even smaller, almost uninhabited with small vineyards. There are two beaches in the north end, Vrika and Voutoumi, Here you have some of the finest clear blue seas in the world safe for swimming and snorkeling for all ages.
