The Ionian Islands are well known as one of the best destinations in the world for kayaking and canoeing. You will find both sea kayak adventures as well as tours taking you on a river or lake as in the region of Preveza for example.
In Parga there are numerous shops for renting kayaking equipment. It is a very special way to explore beaches, such as, Lichnos and Krioneri or small coves and hidden bays north of Parga.
In summer, large vessels can obtain temporary anchorage 0.4 miles ESE of cape Ágios Spyrídon, at a depth of 36 m on a holding ground of mud. Small vessels can anchor on the inner side of the jetty in cove Váltou. Anchorage can also be obtained at a depth of about 13 m, on a holding ground of mud, 0.2 miles SW of the light of Archaía Torýni peninsula. Local vessels prefer to anchor in Agíou Athanasíou bay, which is sheltered from S winds, at depths of 9–15 m.
