The island of Lefkada is famous for the perfect weather conditions for windsurfing and kite surfing. Indeed, the thermal winds that are blowing during the summer afternoons in some areas of the island make those places ideal for those water sports.
Visit Agios Ioannis-Myloi, a beautiful beach in the northern part of the island. You could see there hundreds of windsurfers and kite surfers doing spectacular figures offering a multicolored spectacle. There are several schools and academies for beginners and more experienced surfers.

The Monastery of Panagia Faneromeni or Moni Faneromeni is the most important religious centre on the island of Lefkada. Situated in Frini, on the hilltop above Lefkas Town, this monastery offers a breathtaking view to the capital village, the northern side of the island and the opposite coasts of the mainland.
Pefkoulia is an impressive large sandy beach located 10 km southwest of Lefkada town ad close to the fishing village of Agios Nikitas. Considered as one of the best beaches of the island, the sea at Pefkoulia has a wonderful turquoise color that attracts many visitors.
Kathisma is arguably one of the most beautiful beaches of Lefkada located 15 km southeast of the main town, close to the village of Agios Nikitas.

"Megali Petra is another beach not to be missed while on Lefkada. Located at the western part of the island, very near to Kalamitsi beach, Megali Petra has been named after the huge rocks that are scattered on its waterfront, meaning ""great rocks"" in Greek.
